I haven't curated an etsy treasury for a while now.. but with all these beautiful oranges popping up all over the place, I just couldn't resist.

This one features my fellow etsykids team members.. aren't they a clever bunch?

{new in my shop..} the vintage collection..

{oh so grateful..} for a kid's perspective..

Our little girl is now in Kindergarten and absolutely absorbing everything like a sponge. She doesn't forget a thing and the words she learns are just amazing. They're currently learning about animals and last week had an excursion to Urbrae Farm.. I seriously can't keep up with what she's learning. We have our chats in the car about what she did and how her day was and she tells me a fair bit but the detail always comes out when we are reading a book that hits on a topic she has been learning..

Conversation while reading an animal book.. We come across a picture of an owl..
The book read - "owls sleep during the day and fly at night"
Ella - "that means that they're nocturnal mummy"
Me - "very good Ella!! What other animal is nocturnal?"
Ella - "a possum"
Ella - "a baby horse"
Me - "why are baby horses nocturnal?"
Ella - "because they wake their mummies up"
Me - Belly Laugh..
Ella - "me and Zaccy are nocturnal"
Me - An even bigger belly laugh (the one that produces tears)..
Me - "I guess that does kind of make you nocturnal, hopefully one day you won't be and mummy can get sleep.."
Zac - "My not a tunnel!"
Ella - "You are nocturnal"
Zac - getting angry now.. "MY NOT A TUNNEL!!"
This went on for a while while I was in tears laughing.. God these monkeys crack me up!!

So this week, I'm oh so grateful for my little cherubs. Their perspective on life and the fact that they can just make me laugh and laugh till I cry.

{etsy love..} pdf doll-house pattern..

I've been on a hunt for a doll house for my little girl for a while now and have even contemplated making one myself. No big dramas either way, but I guess what has been stopping me is the question of whether it will just be another big item in her room that will get used once in a while but mainly just take up space. We've got a little castle and a few of the Little People range buildings which do just that.. take up space.

So when I stumbled upon this little treasure, the Eco Friendly PDF Dollhouse Pattern from a fellow Etsykids Team member, DollsAndDaydreams.. there was a huge smile on my face and finally an answer I was happy with.

There are even printouts to decorate your house and turn it into a farmhouse, dollhouse and a school house.. So potentially you could have a whole little village.

What I really love about this idea is that you get to teach your kids about recycling and making things yourself rather than buying a manufactured product. It gives you the chance to make something with the kiddos and gives them the chance to decorate the house themselves. Great for all ages and such a cool idea for school projects too.

Well.. I'm off to purchase this little download and its going on the rainy day to-do-list.

are you turning off your lights tonight??

Well.. tonight is earth hour and yep.. we're going to turn off the lights.. not entirely sure how Ella will cope with the darkness.. but we'll give it a go..

Here is a little treasury of some of my favourite recycled items on etsy..

{love} ten years ago..

{image from here}
Yesterday was the big one's and my 10th wedding anniversary. It seems like yesterday that we had a teeny tiny wedding at the registry with a handful of close friends and then a small gathering at my parents place. It was small, cosy, completely understated and we finished off with a night of boogying to a band at our fave pub, then got chauffeured to our hotel in the back of an old Dodge pick-up. We followed up our tying of the knot with a camping trip.

From day dot we did things our way, from day dot we were a little different and from day dot it worked.
We are a blend of the traditional couple where I am the homebody/stay at home mumma and he is the major income earner. He is the strong one that does all the hard work and I do all the kitchen type stuff. But I love to sneak into the man-zone and steal his power tools, do a bit of house reno, dig in the dirt and all round get into the hard work that needs to be done. The big one hates the household chores but sucks it up and unloads and loads the dishwasher, cooks up a mean chilli con-carne or steak and salad and has finally realised that there is no sock-picking-up fairy and that he needs to put his own socks in the clothes hamper.

He is truly the funniest dad on this planet. He loves the kiddos, tries to be Mr Authority but gives in and ends up being one of them.. so yep, I'm a mumma to three crazy, free-range children. Life with the big one truly is entertaining, funny, hilarious, unpredictable and all round sweeet. He's my mate. I love him!

Wow.. christmas is creeping up so incredibly fast and there are gift guides popping up everywhere I look, our letterbox is getting packed with junk mail, my email inbox is being bombarded by gift guides, christmas offers and discounts etc etc.. its all happening..

I am very relieved to say that gift shopping as far as the kids are concerned is well and truly done and dusted.. I'm even contemplating starting to wrap things slowly when their little eyes are closed and they are tucked into their bed..

There are a few more little gifts I have to gather though and I've decided to stick to online shopping and to the world of handmade.. kasiabear has been featured in a number of treasuries over the last week.. so I've joined in and made a couple of shopping guides too..

Another big week done and dusted.. and what an amazing week it was..

This week I became a member of two Etsy teams (EtsyKids and EtsyBloggers) which I am so incredibly excited about.. more about these wonderful teams later..

I am very honoured to have been featured in a few treasuries of late and thought I would curate my very first one this week, and what better way to start my treasuries off than with the colour red.. This little selection of gorgeous items features some items from members of both the EtsyKids and EtsyBloggers Team and also a few red items from my favourites list..

So.. make a cuppa and have a browse..

one of my gorgeous friends is due to have a bubba in january.. they have been trying to get pregnant for quite a while and finally their dream of parenthood is almost here... her and her hubby have decided not to find out the sex of the baby, and with her baby shower soon approaching, i have been hunting around for some gorgeous unisex goodies for her..

so my search for loveliness this week is for yellow baby goodies..

a little bit of saturday sharing..

The weather here is absolutely glorious at the moment.. so just a quick stop inside to share one little find for the week while the kettle is boiling.. these would make fantastic christmas pressies and what more.. there is an option to put your own text on the mug.. i love coffee.. and i love mugs and i love white and i love text.. oh my.. i love these mugs!!

you can find these little guys here

new range of tee's and designs..

A new range of tee's including larger kids sizes and adult sizes are on their way to the kasiabear etsy store..

They will initially be available for Christmas pre-orders and once I decide on the most popular styles and colours they will be available permanently..

What I mean by pre-orders is: you purchase the design of your choice in the size of your choice from the kasiabear etsy store, and all tee's ordered will be printed at the end of October and will ship early November to ensure they get to their destinations safely by Christmas.

A range of new boys and girls designs coming up also.. I've had a lot of requests for personalised tee's as well as trains and astronauts.. I would love to hear what others are looking for so please feel free to leave comments below this post..

Here is a sneak peak of some of the tees already in the etsy shop..

a little bit of saturday sharing..

I think I'm not alone in starting to think about christmas and gifts for the upcoming holiday season... and I guess its only natural that as an artist I try to support my fellow artist by purchasing gifts from their stores rather than the big guns..

I make kids clothes, I take photo's and make prints, but one thing I have never properly tried my hand at (other than during a semester long subject at university) is jewellery making.. I love simple silver jewellery that is unique and I love nature.. so here is my little selection of gorgeous silver pendants with a tree theme..

Have a lovely Saturday..
