{book} the nickle nackle tree..

It's kind of funny how we seem to read one book over and over and over, and then suddenly it changes.. So I thought I'd share the books we're reading over and over again with you..

Zaccy's favourite at the moment is the Nickle Nackle Tree by Lynley Dodd.. He loves the illustrations and loves saying all the birds names...

A very cute and easy to read in the dark book.

{easter}..

Easter has came and gone and I'm technically still on my Easter break but had to pop-in and say hi..
We had a wonderful break with the family just hanging out, doing easter things, eating far too much chocolate and just being us. We caught up with lots of beautiful friends both from Adelaide and my gorgeous friend Shan and her family from Melbourne.. We took a trip to the country, fed cows, rode on tractors, got grubby and just absorbed the simple pleasures..

Looking forward to getting back into the swing of things next week after a 'me' day with 'the gals' of the adult variety tomorrow so off to the hairdresser for me today..

I will leave you with this pic of my sweet little cherubs pigging out on their Lindt Bunnies while sitting on the front door step..

joining in with a few of my faves.. sorry for the double up girls.. but I've been missing your blogs of late so though i'd tie them all in..

{wordless wednesday} over at faith hope and a whole lotta love..

We've been having a great time doing all sorts of easter crafts this year. The kiddo's are getting to the age where I can pull out some cool things from the art stash. Ella is getting pretty good with the scissors cool which opens up a whole new world as far as craft goes.

Here is a little printable {mini easter bunting} for you to download. The flags measure about 6.5cm in length which is a nice size for kiddos to work with. Its FREE.. just add it to your cart, checkout and you'll be able to download the file.

Have fun and Happy Easter!!

{easter craft..} chocolates for our friends..

I'm slowly getting used to the concept of school holidays. So like many fellow mummas out there I've lined up a selection of craft activities to keep my little darling occupied.

We spent the day today making chocolates for her and zaccy's friends at childcare for tomorrow and also for her teachers and our neighbours and friends. I made up some cards that say Happy Easter from Ella and Zaccy, printed them off, cut them to size and we popped a little bit of double sided sticky tape on each card and stuck an easter egg to it.

For the older folk we (I) added a bit of cointreou to the chocolate and we made little eggs and popped them in cello bags..

I'll try and pop up piccies of our other easter crafts before easter.. but no promises..

{catch up..} ella's birthday..

Well, we've had an amazingly mad week which included my little guys birthday, followed by a party on the weekend at our place. So I thought I would catch up a little and do a post on Ella's birthday which came and went over 6 weeks ago.. So here is some pics from my little princesses birthday and party..

Love you my sweet!!

{quick three..} beauty products..

This weeks theme is easy peasy as I'm not a girly girl and there are literally three essentials for me each morning.. everything else is a bonus.

{1} Deodorant
NIVEA Pearl & Beauty Roll-On to be exact..

{2} Face Cream
NIVEA Soft to be exact..

{3} Mascara
MAC Plush Lash in Black to be exact..

I could quite happily live with just the above beauty products, but they have to be those exact ones.. I think I might go into a melt down if they were no longer available..

{quick three..} boy's names...

Firstly.. nope.. I'm not pregnant!!

Reason for the theme is that Zaccy is turning two tomorrow and I was remembering the numerous debates we had on a boy's name. We had Ella's name picked out before we even started trying to conceive. The only discussion we had was whether to change it as it ended up being the most popular name the year she was born. We had our reasons for choosing the name in the first place, as it was my hubby's grandmother's name, so we stuck to our decision.

A boy's name on the other hand was a bit of a funny process. I had a good handful of names I wanted to call Zac. We knew we wanted to use my grandfather's name, Tadeusz, but the spelling would have tongue tied any English speaking person, so we used it as a second name and went with the Italian version, Taddeo. Each time I thought I had the perfect name, my darling hubby would come up with a million payouts for it and insisted that if we called our son that, he'd be crucified in the play ground.

I think Zac was my third choice but out of the million + one names I came up with, this was absolutely the ONLY ONE we agreed on. So Zac he is.. but he could have been..

{1} Hugo
{2} Ollie
{3} Oscar

What boy's names do you like?

{snippets} from the weekend.. feeling blessed..

I spent a lot of time reflecting this weekend as we went to a 5th birthday party. The little man that was celebrating his 5th birthday, was the same boy celebrating his 3rd Birthday two years ago when we dropped Ella off at his party and I gave birth to my little bubba boy 2hrs later. It's my little bubba boy's 2nd birthday tomorrow and all I can think is.. WOW.. what an amazing two years.

My heart feels warm and fuzzy for a few special reasons.. a girlfriend of mine who I met at mums group 4 years ago has moved back to Adelaide, my little man is turning 2 and I am feeling incredibly blessed at how many wonderful people we have in our lives.. I've been working on a little photo collage for Zaccy's birthday and all these wonderful memories are flooding back..

What special things did you get up to on the weekend?

linking up with point+shoot at it's new home over at sunny and scout..

{this week i'm grateful for..} local resources..

{image from here}

I've been making a point of late to try and shop local and utilise some of the local resources available and be a part of my local community in some way. It wasn't a planned thing initially, it kind of just happened when Ella started kindergarten and I found myself wanting to put one of those cheesy 'mum's taxi' signs on my car. All of a sudden the driving, the drop offs and getting in and out of the car was getting a little much.

I promptly cancelled a few appointments and got the diary out. I needed a plan of attack!! I decided that my regular travel time needed to be reduced and that we needed to do all the necessities locally. It's amazing what's around you when you open your eyes.. and I'm glad I did. Our regular travel time has now been streamlined and we now take longer trips to do cool things like visiting the zoo, botanic gardens and the museum. Soon, I think we might even start incorporating the public transport..

So this week I'm grateful for:
{1} our itty bitty local pizza shop..
I've made friends with the owner.. he makes a damn good pizza and even caramelises pumpkin and adds it to my veggo pizza..
{2} our local gift shop cafe..
such a lovely place to hang out.. coffee and food is great and its filled to the brim with little goodies..
{3} our local council..
one of the many services our council provides is an unlimited hard rubbish pick up.. you just call them, book in a date, pile up all the junk out the front of your place and they come the next morning and take it away.. thanks guys.. it was nice to see the pile go today!!
{4} ella's kindergarten..
its local.. it's a 3minute drive.. and its super lovely, the staff are fab and they now have a little incubator with eggs in it to watch baby chickens hatch..
{5} sunsets..
we've had some gorgeous ones of late, and now that they are a little earlier, they don't interfere with bath time.. and the kids go to bed a little easier..

what are you grateful for this week?? i'm joining in with maxabella loves.. you should too..

{quick three..} craft blogs..

OMGoodness.. this is a hard task picking just three craft blogs.. so I picked out my most recently viewed ones..

{1} lil blue boo..
I've talked about Lil Blue Boo before and I still read each one of Ashley's posts. It does help that they come delivered to my email, but each one is filled with inspiration, ideas and information. It is a perfect blend of all things I love including photography, sewing, screen printing and kiddo's.

{2} calico & co.
Amanda writes a seriously cool blog. Really!! Calico & Co is packed full of fantabulous stuff.. It's kind of like a magazine for me. If I am tired and just want some eye candy and cannot fathom reading, I go here, and just LOOK.. Thank you Amanda!!

{3} one craftee mumma..
I've been hanging out at Tamara's blog of late and am loving the diversity of her paper crafting adventures, her etsy finds and the creative collective projects..

{+1} martha stewart..
I rarely have enough time to have a good look at everything, but I do love the Martha Stewart website and
the crafts department..  Yep.. sad I might be but, come on, you gotta love Martha, she's like the Oprah of the crafting world and man there are some cool projects to do with kids on this website. Sorry, I couldn't resist..

So what three crafty type blogs do you visit often or have been hanging out at of late?

{snippets} from the weekend.. a ton of sand..

Finally.. a weekend where we didn't have to go anywhere, be anywhere and we could just get on with our stuff. The weather is cooling down, flies are dying off and I love being outdoors more than any other time during the year. The grass is getting green, the almond tree is dropping its leaves to let in more sun into our backyard and in general.. I just love autumn.

The big boy took off early on Saturday morning to get a couple of little jobs done and came back with a trailer load of sand.. yep.. a ton of sand.. literally. It took almost the rest of the day to get it moved to the backyard and a heap of belly laughs too. The kids were just having a ball. They played in the trailer, they had wheelbarrow rides and just loved the whole process of filling their little pit with sand. And mumma is overjoyed as its in direct view of the kitchen window so I can get on with things as the kids run a muck.

Today we continued on the backyard blitz and just hung out together as a family. I've been trying to clear out a heap of orders and move forward with a few projects I've been working on both at home and kasiabear wise so my online presence has been a little limited. It's amazing how much one can get done when the computer is off..

So although running a little late, this week I'm grateful..
{1} for the empty days in the diary just to enjoy everyday life..
{2} for gloriously sunny days that are not too hot..
{3} for the lack of flies..
{4} for belly laughs that i get from watching my monkeys..
{5} for my hubby who spontaneously buys a ton of sand for the kids..
{6} for fairy dresses, cowboy boots & Ella wearing them simultaneously..
{7} for the gorgeous girls who i've collaborated with this week..
{8} for maxabella loves for grateful saturdays..

joining in with {week-a-boo} & {point + shoot}

{let's do 52} week 13.. connect + tools

Last week I took Ella to the Palaeontology Week Exhibition at the South Australian Museum, and I must say I was super impressed by their interactive display for kids. We left it to last, so she was a bit over it and a bit tired but still got into digging and discovering bones and fossils in the pits.

I didn't take my slr so this is just an iPhone snap, but fits into this weeks theme perfectly for me.. finding dinosaur bones using special TOOLS and then trying to CONNECT the pieces..

Hope you guys are having a fab week..
